Producing fertilizer
to support Mexico’s farmers
We are Proman GPO, part of the Proman family of companies.
We are building the first ammonia plant on Mexico’s Pacific coast to provide a reliable domestic source for fertilizer production, supporting local farmers, strengthening food security and working with local families and communities to help them thrive for generations.
The plant will help reduce the country’s reliance on imported fertilizers and support domestic agricultural sustainability. With natural gas from CFEenergía, the plant is designed to be one of the most modern, safest and efficient in the world, using advanced technologies to ensure high-performance and minimise environmental impact.
Located in Sinaloa, Mexico’s most productive agricultural region, and supported by excellent maritime, land and rail connectivity, Proman GPO will deliver a stable and sustainable fertilizer supply for farmers across the country.

Enhancing domestic fertilizer supply
Mexico currently imports around 80% of the ammonia it consumes, and in 2024, it imported 3.7 million tonnes of nitrogen-based fertilizers*. Once operational, Proman GPO will help reduce import dependency by over 70%, making high-quality ammonia available locally and contributing to Mexico’s agricultural and food self-sufficiency.
The facility will be the largest merchant ammonia plant in Latin America with a production capacity of 2,220 MT/day when completed.

Our goal is simple — to make fertilizers available locally while operating safely, respectfully, and in a way that supports farmers and the communities, including indigenous groups, who are part of this region’s future.
Designed for safety and sustainability
Safety is at the core of Proman GPO’s design. Drawing on more than 40 years of Proman experience, we are applying the highest international standards in engineering, monitoring and environmental care in the design and construction of the plant, with advanced technologies designed to automate safety systems, minimise emissions and protect ecosystems. Committed to the community
We are deeply rooted in the community. As we build, we are creating local jobs, strengthening supplier networks, and supporting education and social initiatives that improve people’s daily lives. We are committed to respecting human rights, protecting local traditions and culture, and making sure the positive impact of this project reaches well beyond construction, helping Sinaloa and Mexico grow stronger together. Partnering with state-owned enterprises
Our success depends on collaboration. Proman GPO is working closely with, CFE, CFEenergía and PEMEX, and a strong network of local suppliers and contractors to deliver this project. These partnerships ensure secure access to natural gas and infrastructure, foster technology transfer, and strengthen Mexico’s industrial and agricultural resilience.
