We are building the first ammonia plant on Mexico’s Pacific coast to provide a reliable domestic source for fertilizer production, support farmers across the region, strengthen food security, and work alongside local families and communities to help them thrive.
The plant will help reduce the country’s dependence on imported fertilizers and support the sustainability of Mexico’s agricultural sector. Powered by natural gas supplied by CFEnergía, the facility will be one of the most modern, safe and efficient ammonia plants in the world, utilising advanced technologies to ensure high performance, uphold the highest safety standards, and minimise environmental impact.
Located in Topolobampo, Sinaloa, Mexico’s most productive agricultural regions, and supported by excellent maritime, road, and rail connections, Proman México will provide a stable and sustainable supply of fertilizers to farmers throughout the country.

Strengthening Mexico’s fertilizer supply
Today, Mexico imports approximately 80% of the raw materials needed for fertilizer production. In 2024 alone, the country imported 3.7 million tonnes of nitrogen-based fertilizers from abroad. Proman México will help reduce reliance on imports and contribute to strengthening Mexico’s agricultural and food self-sufficiency.
Once completed, the Topolobampo facility will be the largest and most advanced ammonia plant in Latin America, with a production capacity of 2,220 metric tonnes per day.

We are deeply committed to the communities where we operate. As we develop our facility, we create employment opportunities for people in Sinaloa, strengthen local supplier networks, and support educational and social initiatives that enhance everyday life.
We contribute to the development of communities surrounding the plant through an investment of MXN 35.5 million in social programs that have benefited more than 225,000 people.
