GPO is committed to the following Human Resources Policy:

1. Working Conditions

  • Establish, maintain, and improve the Employer-Employee relationship.

  • Promote compliance with national labor and employment laws.

  • Ensure that employees understand their rights regarding working conditions and labor standards.

  • Design and manage accommodation for workers (including contractors) with all necessary services counting health and safety aspects.

  • Protect workers, including vulnerable categories such migrant workers, women, third-party contracted workers, and workers within the client’s supply chain.

  • Promote environmental, safe and healthy working conditions and foster employee health.

  • Maintain confidentiality of work-related data.

2. Worker Organization

Allow workers to exercise their rights to freedom of association and collective bargaining.

3. Non-Discrimination And Equal Opportunities

Provide opportunities for hiring, remuneration, access to training, promotion, termination, and retirement on equal terms and without discrimination regardless of race, national or social origin, birth, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, union membership, and political opinions, among others.

4. Gender

Minimize differentiated and unintended gender-related impacts by ensuring equality in all areas of development and business activities in accordance with Mexican laws on women’s rights in practice and daily life.

5. Workforce Reduction

Analyze staff reduction alternatives prior to any term of the collective agreement in accordance with IFC PS2 to reduce possible adverse impacts on the dismissed personnel based on the principle of non-discrimination and compliance with contractual obligations.

6. Grievance Mechanisms

Provide a grievance mechanism for workers, their organizations, and indigenous communities and local people to raise concerns in the workplace or regarding the impact on surrounding communities. The Human Rights Committee and the Human Resources department will inform employees and communities about the grievance mechanism.

7. Workforce Protection

Child Labor

GPO will ensure that its contractors, subcontractors and supply chain as well as in its different types of trade relationships are hired under the age of 18 under any circumstances or engage in employment practices that affect children’s rights.

Forced Labor

  • Practices that incur in forced or compulsory labor or service, i.e., work not performed voluntarily, that are under threat or sanction, in conditions of servitude, or through labor agreements of hiring in unfair and undignified conditions, will not be accepted or used.

  • Trafficked people shall not be employed.

  • GPO will monitor that both its contractors, subcontractors and supply chain, as well as in their different types of business relationships, incur bad practices.

8. Occupational Health And Safety

  • GPO are committed to the continuous improvement of our processes focusing on preventing and mitigating occupational risks in compliance with current regulations on Safety, Health and Environmental Protection.

  • We ensure our work environment is safe for employees by providing effective training, identifying hazards, mitigating risks, documenting and reporting occupational accidents, illnesses and incidents while maintaining the integrity of our assets and products.

9. Third-Party Contracted Workers

All employees shall have a written contract with GPO (company or third-party), provided as part of the hiring process and including policies and procedures related to labor, safety, and working conditions. The contract shall specify employment terms and duration, wages and benefits, payroll calculations, working hours, overtime, rest days, breaks, grievance procedures, deductions, working conditions, termination procedures, health insurance, and pension.

10. Local Hiring

The company’s strategy prioritizes the employment of local labor during the construction of the Plant. GPO intends to strengthen the local economy through the project and provide labour supply and better life prospects for the influence area by offering jobs to the local population. With this commitment, GPO ensures that the project benefits the local community, fostering greater collaboration and mutual benefits

11. Supply Chain

GPO will monitor your supply chain on an ongoing basis to identify any situations that pose potential risks, incidents, or breaches of our policies and procedures, ensuring that appropriate measures are taken to ensure that suppliers prevent or correct the situations detected in accordance with our regulations.
