Human Rights Policy

Gas y Petroquímica de Occidente, S.A. de C.V. (GPO) is committed to respecting Human Rights, aligning with the objectives of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Labour Organization (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, as well as the Ecuador Principles and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Performance Standards. This commitment reinforces the responsibility of the Mexican government to protect and guarantee Human Rights at the national and international levels.

GPO pledges to treat all employees with respect and dignity, promoting diversity in the workplace. This is carried out in accordance with our internal policies, applicable laws and ILO principles, including freedom of association and collective bargaining, non-discrimination, and the prohibition of forced labor and child labor.

GPO fosters staff collaboration within a common Human Rights framework, integrating these principles with particular attention to vulnerable groups. We reject any form of discrimination and ensure an accessible environment for people with functional diversity, as follows:

GPO respects the rights of local communities and Indigenous Peoples, protects the environment when carrying out its operations, and rejects any form of corruption or bribery. We encourage the preferential hiring of local talent and promote projects aimed at community well-being, in alignment with the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights, in accordance with IFC PS4 (Health, Safety, and Community Protection).
