Essential for Fertilisers

The product we produce is the foundation of nitrogen fertilizers, which are essential for food production and soil nutrition around the world.

Beyond agriculture, it is used as an efficient industrial refrigerant in food and beverage cooling systems, air conditioning, and refrigeration facilities, thanks to its low environmental footprint.

This compound is also used in drinking water and wastewater treatment processes, where it helps ensure water quality and supports public health.

In addition, Proman produces urea, versatile nitrogen-based fertilizer that can be combined with other nutrient solutions to enhance crop productivity and improve agricultural efficiency.

Why is this compound so important for agriculture?

Supplies essential nitrogen needed for healthy plant growth.
Enhances soil productivity and supports higher crop yields.
Contributes to food security by helping farmers produce more food efficiently.

Why local production matters

In Mexico, agriculture is central to livelihoods and food security, particularly in the northwest which is one of the most fertile regions in Latin America. By making ammonia locally available, we reduce dependency on imports and increase agricultural self-sufficiency in Mexico. Producing ammonia in Sinaloa also means stable supply for farmers, reduced transportation distances and emissions and increased investment and job creation in Sinaloa and surrounding areas.

Every tonne of ammonia we produce locally will be made under Proman’s global safety systems developed over 40 years of safe operations worldwide and internationally recognised standards. We will be supporting food production while ensuring strong protections for people and the environment.
