Proman GPO to Support PEMEX Dock Rehabilitation in Topolobampo With Investment

PEMEX will carry out the rehabilitation of its dock at the port of Topolobampo, Sinaloa, a project in which Proman GPO will take part with investment to help modernize this infrastructure and strengthen its safety and operational efficiency conditions.

What work will be carried out?
– Repair of the existing concrete structures and piles.
– Replacement of walkways, bridges and metal structures with others of the same design.
– Renovation of fenders, moorings and lighting.
– Installation of a new loading arm.
– Rehabilitation of the electrical and fire-fighting systems.

All work will take place within PEMEX’s existing dock, so there will be no need to expand it, carry out dredging, or install new piles in the sea.

Environmental and community care
The rehabilitation includes measures to protect the environment and reduce potential impacts on communities:
– Water: Nets and platforms will be installed beneath the work areas, along with immediate-response teams at each work front, to prevent construction materials and waste from reaching the water.
– Air and noise: Measures will be implemented to control dust and keep equipment in good condition. Where possible, the noisiest work will be carried out during the day.
– Marine wildlife: The area will be surveyed before work begins, and the presence of birds, dolphins and turtles will be monitored during activities on the water, with work paused when they are nearby.
– Waste: Waste will be separated and delivered to authorized companies for disposal or recovery.
– Traffic: Trucks will use an alternate route that avoids entering the urban area of Topolobampo.
– Fishing and navigation: Activities will take place within the dock, without occupying fishing areas. Any notice directed at fishers will be communicated in advance.
– Worker safety: All work will be carried out in accordance with the highest safety standards for personnel.

Throughout the project, communities, fishers and the Yoreme-Mayo communities will be kept informed.
